Talk:What about linking ads and/or commercials to this website? (It could make tons of money!)

Bob the Hamster: While looking at my logs, I realized that the Main Page gets hit over 540 times a day. The Downloads page gets hit only 110 times a day. The HOWTO index gets hit 85 times a day, and the FAQ only 50 times a day. It seems like a very large portion of visitors just view the main page, and then leave. If I was to put ads on this wiki, I would *only* put them on the main page. My theory would be that if those uninterested visitors are going to leave right away anyway, some of them might as well leave via a pay-per-click link. Thoughts?

Anonymous:I don't know if this affects your idea at all, but I visit the Main Page on the way to the Recent Changes page, which is the only page I visit regularly. I wonder if others do similarly?

Not that it really matters. Pay-per-click is a tough thing to turn down. Would it really drive any veteran or potential OHR user away?

Bob the Hamster: Hmmmm. The average hits on the recent changes page is only about 40 a day.
