Wonky (wôn·key)
adj.
(1) A technical term relating to clocks having an irregular frequency. It's named after the polish inventor Peter Wonkstein who discovered some crystals that made pretty good clock generators except that as their crystaline structure changed with heat, their frequency would drop (and eventually they'd stop responding). The term was originally that you'd call such a clock a Wonkstein clock, but it became Wonky over the years.
